- Cooperation to focus on Scheduling and Output Management Solutions
Berlin, Germany. 6 April 2011 – Beta Systems Software AG, a provider of high-value products and solutions for securely and efficiently processing large volumes of data, and UNISOFTWARE SA, a leading Swiss systems integrator of scheduling and output management software, today announced their sales partnership agreement. The focus of the companies’ collaboration is on the joint marketing of Beta Systems’ scheduling and output management solutions in Switzerland.
Ever since it was founded 26 years ago, UNISOFTWARE has had a very high level of expertise in the data center area with a particular specialization in workload automation. In its capacity as a value added software integrator, UNISOFTWARE is now selling Beta Systems’ APX scheduling solutions as well as its open systems solutions, such as Beta UX-DistributionMaster and Beta UX-LogMaster. UNISOFTWARE’s customer base includes well-known names from several industry sectors, such as Cortal Consors Bank, Crédit Logement, and Le Foyer Assurance in the financial services sector; T-Systems France in IT; and Migros, Union INVIVO and Kraft Foods Suisse in the food and retail areas.
Many companies and data centers run their business-critical applications on IBM’s z platform. The demands placed on this strategic z architecture are constantly increasing due to the rise in new computerized business processes, which often require higher MIPS performance from the hardware they run on. Beta Systems’ APX/PCC scheduler helps by managing event-based and batch processes – including the z/OS batch workload – enterprise-wide. Along with z/OS mainframes, large data centers often run hundreds of open systems servers too. As APX manages and automates distributed workloads on open systems as well as z/OS jobs on the mainframe, it helps companies implement an enterprise-wide workload automation strategy. This can help them make significant cost savings because they only need one solution as opposed to several individual solutions for different systems. In addition, APX enables end-to-end, seamless planning for the whole company, providing a high level of security in the area of workload management.
As UNISOFTWARE has been providing support for the APX scheduling solutions for several years, it has already built up extensive expertise in this area. In addition, UNISOFTWARE will add the Beta UX product suite to its portfolio. This high-performance output management system enables the centralized management and archiving of the entire output. On Unix operating systems, it also ensures the efficient distribution of documents into any channels required. The Beta UX product suite includes three standard solutions – Beta UX - DistributionMaster, Beta UX - ContentMaster and Beta UX - LogMaster – that enable the automation of production and business processes that themselves depend on document and log file processes.
“We provide state-of-the-art solutions that are not only extremely reliable but also easy to manage, configure and deploy. This gives us a significant advantage compared to the competition and keeps the total cost of ownership (TCO) low”, says Bruno Béhier, Sales Director at UNISOFTWARE SA. “We have already benefited from the effects of the synergy between our two companies right at the start of our partnership, as we have won a new APX customer in Switzerland. With this project, the joint team from UNISOFTWARE and Beta Systems really shone and provided proof of its wide-ranging expertise,” adds Jürgen Herbott, CEO of Beta Systems Software AG.
